Introduction
The Forms Designer serves as a central hub for accessing all company forms. It also allows editing of forms, provided the account has the required permissions.
Getting to the list of Master Forms
A master form is the original template from which all active forms are generated. Each time a form is filled out, it creates a copy of the master form.
Changes made to a master form do not affect forms that have already been completed.
To access the list of forms:
- Open the web version of Visual Dispatch.
- Go to Forms > Forms Designer.
Managing your Forms
The Forms Designer page provides a set of tools to help manage and customize your forms.
- New - Create a New Form and definite its attributes
- Edit - Edit the attributes of this form
Name - the name for this form. It needs to be unique, and it is helpful to add the type of form to it so it’s easier to find later.
Type: Select whether it is a Prestart, JSA form, or Other form.
Template: Select which doc template to use when exporting the form to PDF
Attachments: whether this form supports documents attached to it
Delete - as the name says, will remove the selected master form from the list. Be careful, there is no undo!
Elements - opens a new screen to lay out and modify the selected form. See Laying Out Forms
Preview - shows what the selected form will look like
Export XML - Generates an XML file from the selected form, which can then be imported into another instance of Visual Dispatch
Import - Imports a master form created in another instance of Visual Dispatch, generating a new form in your system
Replace - similar to Import but replaces the selected form with the imported one. Be careful, there is no undo!
