What are Packages?
Packages are a streamlined way of delivering Quotes to customers. They act as off-the-shelf Quotes that are available for selection when creating new Quotes. They contain pre-configured options like Equipment, Items, Labor, or Kits.
They can be tailored to cover many different Job Use-Cases.
How to create Packages:
Start by navigating to the Quotes Tab.
Click on "Packages"
At the bottom of the page, click "New"
In the "Package" field, type in the name of this Package. The name should align with what kind of Package you're creating
Next select the Branch
Skip over the "Group" field for now, as this will be covered further down.
The next part of the setup is exactly like creating a Quote
Click inside any of the Date/Time/Hours Fields
Here you will select the relevant information. Because this is a Package, the Begin/End Date, Start/Finish Time, and the Travel to/from fields aren't necessary right now.
The amount of "Days", "Hours Per Day" fields, and Weekend Checkboxes should be all that's needed right now.
Once complete, click the "Save" button
Before beginning the next section, please ensure that all necessary configuration has been completed in the Desktop Application.
Next the line items will need to be added in. Please add any Equipment, Labor, Items, Labels, or Kits here.
Note if there aren't any prices when adding the line items here, this is normal and these prices will show up once this package is used in a new Quote.
The next section allows for any Overtime, Taxes, and Discounts to be applied.
If a Tax is to be used, be sure to mark the checkbox next to the corresponding line item that needs to be taxed.
Once the additional charges have been set, click "Save" or "Save & Close"
How to use Packages:
Once Packages have been created, they are ready to be used for Quotes immediately
To start, go click on the Quotes Tab, then "New Quote"
Fill out the necessary information in the "General" section.
Next, navigate down to the "Resources & Items" section.
Select "Package"
A Pop-up box will appear, where all available Packages can be selected.
Click on the Package drop-down field, and select the appropriate Package.
Select a Begin Date
Next Click "Add"
Note that the Resources and Items will now be filled in with whatever was in the Package.
What are Package Groups?
Package Groups is a grouping function in the Portal that allows Packages to be organized by their characteristics. For example, if there are a sizable amount of Packages dedicated to a 100 Ton Crane, these Packages can be grouped in to a Package Group called: 100 Ton Crane Packages.
Organizing Packages into Groups will allow for easy filtering when looking for existing Packages in the Packages Page, or when selecting a Package while creating a new Quote
To Create a Package Group, navigate to the Quotes Tab then "Package Groups"
Click on "New" at the bottom of the page
Once the Pop-up Box appears, give this Package Group a name, then click save.
These Package Groups are assigned when creating new Packages, or you a Package Group to an existing Package.
Creating a Package from an existing Quote:
VisD also allows for Packages to be created from existing Quotes in the system.
Navigate to the Quotes Tab, then click on "Quotes"
Select a Quote by clicking once on it. It should be highlighted in Orange.
Next, look to the bottom right-corner of the page and click "Package"
A new Pop-up box will appear. Fill in the name of the new Package and click "Create"
The new Package will contain all of the Resources, Items, and Charges, that were on that Quote
