This article explains how to record an employee’s vacation time in the system using the Employee Chart and how it reflects in other views.
Steps to Record Time Off
1. Open the Employee Chart View
- Navigate to the Employee Chart view in your system.
2. Create a Time-Off Bar
- Select the employee who will be on vacation.
- Create a bar representing the period they will be off.
3. Set the Status
- Right-click on the bar to open the context menu.
- Select Status.
- From the dropdown, choose Vac (non rental).
For Multiple Days Off
If the employee will be away for more than one day:
- Right-click the bar again and select Propagate.
- In the next window:
- Use the calendar to select the last day of the time off.
- Check the box Include (the first day of the vacation).
- Confirm your selection.
System Behavior After Recording
- In the Day View spreadsheet, the employee will appear as scheduled on vacation.
- If you assign this employee to a rental in the Equipment Chart, you’ll see:
- A red bar above the rental in the Resource Chart.
- A red “Vac” label next to the employee’s name in the right panel of the Equipment Chart.
Tips
- Always verify the dates before confirming propagation.
- Use the Day View to quickly check vacation schedules across employees.
