The Equipment list in Visual Dispatch represents the physical equipment that's on any given yard. This is unlike the Configuration Page which represents High Level details of Equipment such as the pricing, size configuration, Type, Class, etc.
The configuration setup will need to be completed before adding new equipment to the system. The basis Configuration Article can be found HERE.
To begin, open the Equipment Module by clicking on the Crane Icon at the top.
This page will list all unique equipment. To add new equipment, click on the "New" button at the bottom right of the page.
Not all fields are necessary to fill out right away. Only the "Equipment Number" and "Branch" fields are required. However there are other fields worth filling out as soon as possible. Below are recommended fields to fill in, grouped by the Tabs on the Equipment Pop-Up Window
General:
Configuration Section: This allows equipment to be tied to configuration which will define the equipment's Class, Size, and Type. Click on the "Select" button which will bring up the Configuration List. Choose the appropriate configuration for the equipment that's being created.
Primary Employee/Default Title: These fields allow for defaulting a particular employee or job title that should usually operate this equipment
Serial No/Year/License Plate Number: These fields allow for specificity of the equipment being created to distinguish it from other similar vehicles
Make/Model: These fields will need to be pre-configured before they can be chosen here. They allow for continued specificity
Item Code: This field will be necessary for Integrations with Accounting Software such as Quickbooks. This field will essentially route this equipment to the proper Receivable Accounts. For more information on Item Codes, please see the article HERE
Pre-start/Post-start Forms: These fields are used to attach Job Safety Agreements or Inspection forms to the equipment should it be used or a Job. These forms will need to be created and configured first before selecting them here. For more information on creating these Forms, please see the article HERE
Support Resources:
Support Resources Section: This section can store other configured equipment that typically goes out on job in tandem with the equipment being created
Specifications:
The fields here allow for further details to be input regarding Engine Specifications. This fields must be configured beforehand by navigating to List -> Other List -> Equipment Form
Induction:
This process ensures that individuals are qualified and have the necessary licenses and training to operate specific machinery, like Cranes or other construction equipment.
The "Issuer", "Type", "Renewal" fields must be configure first before selecting them in the drop down. They can be found by navigating to List -> Other List -> Card Form.
The other fields can be filled out as needed.
The other Tabs available can add more information to the equipment if necessary, but are also not required.
