Use Case:
Because Visual Dispatch sits on another Server, its default File Explorer will be that of the Server's, and not the individual user's.
In order to access files on a user's computer, Vis D's File Explorer will have to go through the Shared Network Drive to locate the user's desktop or documents folder.
Accessing files in this manner is much slower than accessing files locally. This is especially the case when users have a significant amount of other files in their folders. The File Explorer will have to load all files before the user can select the desired file to attach.
There is a workaround for this delay:
Creating Shortcuts
Navigate to a Rental
Select and open a rental of your choosing
Click on the "Attachments" Tab
Click the "Add" button at the bottom of the screen
This will pull up the File Explorer which is defaulted to the Server.
Navigate to Network Drive on the left panel. Click "tsclient"
Double-Click "Users"
Find the User's Windows name in the list here, then double click on that user
From here, this should open up the list of folders and files stored locally on this user's computer
Right-click on the desired folder and then click "Pin to Quick Access"
Summary:
Once a user has their local folders pinned to the Quick Access Section, they will be also be available for any other Functions in Vis D that can have attachments such as Invoices or Customer Profiles
