The following step-by-step instructions describe how to obtain Access keys, required to email from Visual Dispatch if the email provider is Microsoft. It is important to note that these steps require the relevant permissions in Microsoft Azure portal, usually reserved for administrator accounts.
1. Log into the Azure Portal or Entra Admin Center (Must have at least Cloud Application Administrator permissions)
2. Select “Microsoft Entra ID”
3. From the Manage menu, select “App registrations”
4. Click the “+ New registration” link
5. Enter “Visual Dispatch” and click the Register button
6. Note the “Application (Client) ID” (This will be entered in Visual Dispatch)
7. Note the “Directory (Tenant) ID” (This will be entered in Visual Dispatch)
8. Click “Add a certificate or secret” to the right of the “Client credentials” label
9. Click “+ New Client Secret”
10. Enter “Visual Dispatch” for the Description
11. Select “730 days (24 months) for Expires
12. Click the Add button
13. After clicking "Add", your new client secret will be displayed. Take note of the “Value” since it cannot be viewed again. IMPORTANT: Make sure you copy the Value and NOT the Secret ID.
(This will be entered as the Client Secret in Visual Dispatch)
14. Select “API permissions” menu and then click “+ Add a permission”
15. Select Microsoft Graph (Should be the first tile and is much bigger than the others, spans 3 tiles)
16. Select “Application permissions”t “Your application runs as a background service or daemon without a signed-in user” if prompted.
17. Search for Mail and expand it
18. Check the “Mail.Send” checkbox
19. Click the blue “Add Permissions” button
20. Click the “Grant admin consent for [your organization]” and click Yes (This is located to the right of the “+ Add a permission” button / link)
MS 365 Keys System Settings in Visual Dispatch
1. Enterprise Version: Select “Tools Options Application - Email tab”
2. Access Version: Select “Tools Options General - Email & SMS tab”
3. Select the MS 365 option
4. Enter the three MS 365 keys
5. These settings will apply to the entire system and all users
MS 365 Keys Branch Specific System Settings in Visual Dispatch Enterprise
1. Select “Lists Branch - Email tab”
2. Select Specify and select the MS 365 option
3. Enter the three MS 365 keys
4. These keys will only apply to users associated with the branch
